Sorry, guys. I wish I had something more interesting to post. Some days I’m just a guy who is behind on his work. Nothing clever to say, nothing interesting to report. Well, I’m behind on my work everyday, but anyway… Digging through the archives, I found this rough I did for Asami in her gown for the gala in episode 104.
Yes: She has a similar look to that of Lust from Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.
Yes: I think Lust is an awesome character and character design.
No: I didn’t base Asami’s design on Lust, as I didn’t watch that series until a full year after I did Asami’s design. I know this because I didn’t get a Netflix account until last year, and I designed Asami two years ago. But if it were, I would gladly own up to it. I’m not only behind on my work, but also my TV viewing.
Yes: Asami’s design was my idea of a Hollywood Golden Age actress in the Avatar world. Her hair was inspired by Rita Hayworth, not Lust.
Yes: I did
